1926 - the origin

The Vázquez family started Boteros Amarradores de Vigo in 1926, as the company in charge of providing mooring services in the Ría de Vigo.
They had two vessels: "Gloria" and "Seis Hermanos" that were 6 and 7.5 m in length.
They have always been loyal and committed to providing vessel services every day of the year.

1926-2004 - evolution

Over the years, the rapid growth of the Vigo Port and increased traffic led Botamavi to expand their facilities and personnel, and to build new vessels.
The 4th generation of the Vázquez family took over in 1994, holding the position of General Secretary of the mooring companies’ association.

2004 - expansion

Segem Servicios Generales Marítimos was created in 2004 to cover the wide range of maritime services that the port community demands: pollution prevention, auxiliary services, beaconing, transport and supplies, Marpol, document control, etc.

Segem is divided into five departments, providing professional coverage for each one.



The Holding Company Bergé became a shareholder in 2004.

2004-2017 - quality

The Botamavi Group has stood out in recent years by improving all its work processes, obtaining quality certifications to accredit company activities.
The environment is another of its priorities, and the company continuously works on process optimisation and conservation to reduce pollution.
P&O Reyser, a division of the multi-national company DP World (Dubai Ports World) became a shareholder of the Botamavi Group in 2017.
